CFA supports environmental conservation and encourages everyday behavior that is friendly to the planet, such as recycling paper, glass, plastic, and aluminum, carrying reusable canvas bags when shopping, avoiding aerosolized sprays, joining car pools, conserving energy and water, and reducing trash. We also encourage more active methods such as helping protect the rainforest, planting a tree, and eating vegetables instead of meat (1 pound of beef requires 16 pounds of grain and soybeans, 2500 gallons of water, and the energy equivalent to one gallon of gasoline). Strikingly, our planet is losing up to three species of animals per day due to hunting and land development. We emphasize habitat preservation and restoration in an attempt to halt this alarming loss of wildlife.
